We enjoyed a Testosterone-filled week with Trains, helicopters, skiing, Legos, blocks, and playing tractors in the back yard.
Individual Highlights:
Mike: I told Mike that he can buy one nice train in our lifetime, so make it count! He found a Lionel Boy Scout one at the TP train show a few weeks ago and learned about a few more cars on sale at the consecutive train show in Salt Lake. So, first thing Saturday morning, we got dressed and hopped in the car to hit another classy train show.
James: The $5 firetruck that we bought him at the train show. He was pretty bored until he found thing, at which point the entire day took a turn for the best.
Daniel: Skiing. Who would've thought that last year's 'noodle legs' would eat up the slopes this year? We were hesitant to even put him on skis this season, but luckily we did. He stayed strong, had no fear, and his face was beaming with pride and delight!
Robin: The Helicopter! As we were walking back to our car we saw a couple of police cars and an ambulance with their lights on. That was exciting enough, until we learned that they were preparing for Life Flight to land right in front of our car. We watched the landing from outside and got covered in snow. We then got to sit in the comfort of our car to watch it for about 15 min before it took off again. I thought the boys would be more entranced by the experience but James was too into playing with his fire truck and Daniel just wanted to ride in the thing.

Quote of the Week
In my limited reading and listening, I often come across at least one quote that is either applicable to where I'm currently at in life or I just really like it. I've been meaning to start this for a while and finally remembered today. Here's the one for the week, which came from today's Sunday School lesson and was inspired by a ward fast for a neighbor's 4-year old daughter who was hit by a car yesterday afternoon:

He [the Lord] therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding, and compassion which polish you for your everlasting benefit. To get you from where you are to where He wants you to be requires a lot of stretching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain.
Elder Richard G. Scott (Trust in the Lord Nov. 1995)

  1. What a week! Look at you on the go... hasn't anyone informed you that you are pregnant... therefore you have every excuse to just sit back and relax!;)
Thanks for sharing that quote! I always "leave" your blog feeling a little more inspired to be a better person, mother, and friend! Thanks!
