This picture is one of many that I have taken this month as part of my "Creative Sleeping Positions" collection. It's becoming fun for me to check on the boys about an hour after they've gone to bed. Mike and I find them in the most awkward positions-- usually it's just Daniel, but this night was a winner. We're wanting to get them bunk beds. Is that a good idea?
This week has been wonderful. Granted, the weather is cold and wintery and there's not much we can do outside, but we've had some fun inside and I'm feeling better :) Yay! The first trimester is over and although I'm still tired, food isn't as repulsive, smells are tolerable, and I don't feel like I'm going to puke any minute.
Fun times of Sanity breaks have included:
- Marbleworks. We set this up for the first time this week and it has occupied the boys for hours! It's been the best toy and sanity for Mike and me. Plus, we've had fun playing with it too.
- Cabellas. Is about 10 minutes from our house. We only go there once or twice a year-- the day's we're REALLY desperate to get out of the house because our boys really aren't that into it. James was scared of the fish, both were oblivious to the stuffed real animals, and only Mike and I got into the shooting game. Really, the only things they cared about was Daniel and the tents and James with the golf cart. It's kind of like when we go to the zoo and all they care about are train rides, toys at the playground, and the golf carts. At least it makes for cheap and predictable entertainment.
- Kohls. I bravely took the boys there one afternoon this week. I haven't been there for like a year. It was there that James saw what he wants to ask Santa for Christmas: a remote control Monster Truck.
- The Mall. I bravely took Mikey and the boys to the mall on Saturday and it's there that Mike found what he's going to ask Santa for: a remote control flying helicopter.
- Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had our monthly birthday meal and celebration. The eventually had fun playing with toys and cousins and Mike and I enjoyed visiting.
- Gymnastics. This was the boy's second week and they love it. Daniel had his usual permanent smile/ tongue sticking out of his mouth and James was pretty proud of himself when he did the balance beam all by himself.
-McDonalds. Thursday night we made the first of many winter trips to play at Mc's and it was the best decision ever. The boys ran wild for an amazingly long amount of time and Mike and I sat back, relaxed, and even visited a little bit.
Pretty exciting week for us-- and just the beginning of lots of creatively spent hours indoors.
