Mom, I'm sorry your face is blurry in this picture, but I love your cute smile and had to use it!
James, we have so many options today, what would you like to do?
Play Josh (our neighbor and good friend)
Or, (holding 1 finger) we could go to the Rec Center
Play Josh
or, (holding 2 fingers) we could go to story time
Play Josh
or, (holding 3 fingers) we could go to the park
then James grabbed my fourth finger and said, "Play Josh."
Needless to say, playing with Josh is what we ended up doing and enjoying.
--- Now, with that said and with the understanding of just how fun Josh is, on Friday morning I our conversation went like this:
James, we have a fun day planned. Today we get to either go to the park with Joshy or we can go to Salt Lake with Ama.
Instantly, James' response was: Ride choo choo train!
Playing with Josh did not even phase him when it came to riding TRAX and spending the day with Ama!
--- SLC was super fun, and always a fun field trip to the big city. We saw 3 fire trucks, rode the train, walked Temple square, played in the children section of the history museum, had lunch at The Garden, and played in the grass as it was one of our first officially warm and sunny days wearing shorts!
--- We got chickens. Luckily our neighbors had chickens on their list of "next projects" and he is really into it. We are doing our part but are so glad to have another family on board. Mike and our neighbor have built an amazing chicken coop (pics to come when completely finished) and we got 6 chickens yesterday. (We I mean they, and their 3 enthusiastic kids went and picked them up and are keeping them in their garage). We are looking forward to fresh eggs and are expecting amazing pest control and in sharing the work with another family.
--- James got to "ride" in his first police car. Our chicken neighbor is also a police officer with a police car and a police motorcycle. Sitting in the car and turning on the lights entertained the James for hours while the men worked on building the coop.
--- We just got news that James' first friend, Ashton, is moving. To Idaho. Sad. I know moving is the way of life these days, but this is the first move of many that really affects our family, including our children.
--- Conference Weekend. I love Conference. I love President Monson so much. Among a rock solid testimony and so many other attributes, He is so full of Love. I wish I had a fraction of the love he has for others.
