May I introduce you to our pets for the week. We have Misty the kitty cat (Ditty) who the boys absolutely adore and just don't understand why she hides under our bed when they come near. Then, we have "Honey" the chicken who we get to have ownership over (along with 5 others) for the entire next week. Daniel was nearly successful in removing it's head within the first minute of having it with us, but she survived and hopefully will until our neighbors get back from vacation next week... if not, their little chick will have gotten smaller in a week's time by being replaced with a new chick. James is absolutely tender with her and first thing he does is pull it close to him.
Beware, some of those cute hens might actually be roosters. That happened to us 2 different times! If they crow as much as ours did, you might have more than eggs, you might end up with rooster stew!
ReplyDeleteAnd be careful with starting the whole 'pet' thing. We've had two cats since my kids were born, and now they want a dog, puppy, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, a lizard.... yeah, I keep telling them, maybe we'll get more - when they're 10!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures though!
