For James' #2 birthday we did the Cars theme... more because Mommy likes Cars than James. He really does love cars and Cars, but he also LOVES trains, tractors, boats, and any other form of motorized transportation. Cars is one of the only movies James can watch without crying because he's scared. He does squawk a little when the cars wreck during the opening race, but nothing like when we tried showing him "Finding Nemo" or the "Carebears." Those shows have some scary parts in them.
For years now, I've been wanting to try Fondant. I was too busy for his 1st birthday, but this year I had some extra time on my hands (probably because I'm not into working out right now). So, I gave it a try and had a good time. You can read all about it on robins-kitchen.blogspot.
We had a couple of different birthday parties. We had a little friend party during our Tuesday morning playgroup and then we had a family one at Mike's parents' house where we sang to him and had cake and ice cream. James was even able to blow out his candle because he had previously practiced at Ama's house.
James, We Love YOU! You are such a joy and a delight to have in our home and I count you as one of my greatest blessings. I'm so lucky to be your Mommy and to be able to spend my days with you. I love being home with you, playing with you, teaching, and learning from you. Your Daddy and I are so in love with you and are so grateful that you chose us to be your parents.
So fun!! Hey we have 2T snowpants and need 3T maybe we should trade. LOL...
ReplyDeleteWoW!!! I am so impressed with your cake!!!! Way to go!!!! It turned out perfect!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cake! I am totally impressed that you made it yourself! So crafty! Glad James had a fun and special day!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I checked and checked and checked your blog....no updates, and then boom, tons of posts. Where did you find the time to post all this while also making that INCREDIBLE cake! Holy smokes. Seriously Robin, you could make some money making those cakes. It looks awesome. When Shad saw the kids cakes this year that I ordered from a grocery store, he asked, "Liz why don't you make these?" I think he was pretty disappointed in me. I don't think I'll be showing him your blog anytime soon. It'll make me look bad. = )
ReplyDeleteJames outfit looks great to me. The baggie thing under your shoes....totally did that all through growing up....I thought everyone did. = )
