This Week's Happenings

What a fun Week! Each town has their own little party throughout the summer and ours was on Saturday. There were fireworks, bands, foods, and booths. We even raced in the 5K--my first one in 10 years! Our time was nothing to write home about but it was fun for all of us. In fact Mikey was so nice, that he even stayed back with James and I--pushing the B.O.B. at least half the way. Regardless of how slow I was, it was motivating to be around all those racers and we are already planning and training for the next race:)

As for Hermie and Kermie (our pet frogs), they lived while in our care but since the last entry we have released them back into their natural habitat. We found this wonderfully slimy pond near our house and figured that if they can't survive there then they weren't meant to be frogs.

Other fun adventures have been: visiting our old ward and friends, swimming at the local pool, going for walks, and watching the final episodes of "So, You Think You Can Dance!"

Here are a few pictures to share with you:

Here's a picture of James looking at a scrapbook of Mike and I. I love to look at Mike's baby pictures because I can see how similar both he and James look.

Here is a picture of us after the big race.

After the race, we took a little road trip to Park City then on to The Zermott in Midway for their yummy Gelato!

I love this goofy little picture of James!

Finally, here is an adorable video of James entertaining us with his most recent trick. I apologize for my background talking--I always think I sound so lame when I play back these videos and listen to myself. Mike and James sure are cute, though!

Have a most fabulous week and we love you!

  3. Oh, the cuteness! I can't stand it. James IS absolutely adorable! And congrats on the 5K. I'm very impressed. I've started running, but it's been 15 years since I really ran, so it's slow going for me. My goal is a 5K next summer, assuming I'm not pregnant. Maybe we can do one together! (Assuming you're not pregnant too!):D Love ya!

  7. Oh, my gosh...how ADORABLE! I hadn't checked your blog for about a week and it was such a treat. Mike looks like he's playing a guitar, only having a lot more fun with it being your little son! Keep the messages coming...they are bittersweet as I miss you all so much and they remind me of the passing of time, butI feel closer and more in touch when I see the pictures and messages.
