'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
both creatures were stirring and I'm grateful for my sweet spouse
(who was up with them so I could sleep).
The stockings were filled and sitting on a couch pillow
Each by a present brought by the big fellow.

A monster truck and wiggle car would be the surprise,
Mike and I couldn't wait to see the magic in their eyes.

When upstairs in the guest room we heard such a noise
as Ama was handling the nasty stomach bug with such poise.
We opened the presents under the tree,
Each one followed by a noise of glee.

We've had such fun holidays with family in town,
but boy, were we excited to take our tree down!
The Ball's have been sick with colds and the bug,
as Daniel depicts pitching fits on the rug.

New toys, spring weather, and cousins in town
have made it impossible to put the boys down.
They love Christmas season and all celebrations
but I think we're ready for new year meditations.

The boys learned about Jesus born in a stable one night,
remembering that spirit will bring joy and delight.
We're grateful for this wonderful time of year,
to focus on things that we cherish and hold dear.

Happy Christmas to all from a family who had one long night!!!
