Where it All Began...

This Quilt is where Mike's and My Story begins.

Mike and I met at a humanitarian service project for our Single's ward. I had moved in a few weeks earlier and it was my first official activity to attend. Little did I ever expect to meet anyone. I think I was mostly looking for a roommate to share my Mom's house that I was living in. Well, there were three stations. One was stuffing bags and the other two were tying quilts. A red and a green. Quilt tying sounded more social so I grabbed a seat at the green one.

Lucky for me, there was a nice guy who obviously knew what he was doing and could refresh my mind on how to tie a quilt. I had made some in high school, but had since forgotten. He was a nice guy and pretty entertaining as well. But other than that, I wasn't looking for a boy and that's about all I remember from the day.

Well... A year later... that nice boy and I finally decided that we both liked each other and should date. Lucky for me he 1) was in charge of that activity and the projects, and 2) never gave away the green blanket. Only the red one found a home ... and finally the green one did too.
As a favorite family heirloom to be loved and cherished. Xoxoxo

BTW: I do plan to one day make and give away a quilt to compensate for us keeping this one :)

  1. That is so sweet! I love that Mike kept the quilt. The quilt we have at our house was made by a past girlfriend of Everett's. I've always planned on making one to replace it, but other projects keep coming up. And frankly, she did a really good job.
