The Ruffians

Here are my perfectly behaved boys at their cousin's wedding today... wrestling on the grass and beating each other up. Okay, it actually looks like it's just James doing the wrestling. Maybe all of those hours of watching Mater the Monster truck Tormentor on YouTube while being potty trained had an adverse affect after all.

Gorgeous weather, played outside, walked Daddy to work two days, played at parks, and filled our plastic pool in the back yard.

I did my one and only triathlon for the year and loved it! I'm sure I had a perma-grin the whole way and would do them once a week if time and finances were limitless. Mike is soooooo- wonderful to let me take a Saturday to do what I want to do while he babysits the kids all morning instead of tackling his long "to do" list.

Cousin Jeff and Emily got married today. It was a beautiful day and lovely wedding. I love weddings.

Sleep. Is it just our boys or do kids this age not sleep at night? Granted they are getting over colds, but still. Shouldn't that make them need to sleep more?  I feel like we've had a newborn this week with how little sleep we've gotten. Crazy kids. Any suggestions?

  1. Oh how boys will be boys?! Cute picture as always though!!! Congrats on completing your Tri-Athlon! I'm impressed once again by your athletic skills! Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep... something I'm really not looking forward to with #3 coming this fall! One thing we do, and it might work for you, is we don't let the boys lay in bed with us because then no one gets sleep so we let them lay on our bedroom floor by our bed if they insist on not going back to their beds. We have extra pillows and blankets on hand for middle of the night interruptions. I might be worth a try! Hope they get back to feeling better again and that you get back to your normal nighttime routines soon!
