Happy Easter!
Despite the England weather, we've had a fun week:
-- Dying Easter Eggs with cousins at Aunt Shelly's house. James insisted that the pink egg dye is red and is pretty much obsessed with the color right now. Needless to say, it was the only color he wanted to do and we came home with a crate of bright pink eggs.
-- Hoffmann cousins came over to play while Julie taught my RS a class on couponing. She rekindled my interest and motivation to try it again.
-- Easter Eggstreme and an absolute madhouse at TP. Boys had fun riding the train and plowing over kids to get candy (can you really see James doing that? Daniel in another year, yes, but not James). Our boys were polite and it's a good thing because once I opened the eggs I threw half of them back because they had such lame candy inside. They had this new 3-pack of smarty's that wasn't even worth the effort of opening and eating. Next year we're hitting our neighborhood one with the good candy.
-- Tulip Festival also at TP and at it's peak. I especially love the colors they chose this year.
-- Meeting Daddy on his walk home from work (he's been walking the last two weeks)
-- 2nd annual Henry's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's. James and his friends are at the right age to really enjoy it and though Daniel wasn't feeling well, both had a blast.
-- The Easter Bunny came this year. Unintentionally and at the very last minute. Last night while putting the boys down they got to hear a story about the Easter bunny and how it's a cute little bunny (James is afraid of the big one) who hops around our house hiding eggs. Then he hops on to the next house and the next all night long. Well, after a story like that the Easter bunny had to come and do just that. He was also such a nice little bunny that he gave James his potty-training (and incentive to go poo in the toilet) $3 Hummer as well. The boys were very Excited and loved taking their toys to Stake Conference today to show anyone and everyone that would look.
BTW: stats on our ward and stake. Our ward is over 600 and stake over 4000. We are full and bursting at the seems. It is such a wonderful place to live and raise a family and we are so grateful to be surrounded by beautiful landscapes and by such good people, neighbors, and friends.
-- James has this cough that kept him (and us) up ALL night last night. Tonight we are trying Grandma's advice of steam, vicks, and lemon/honey mixture. She must be an experienced Mother of 8 as I just found those same 3 tricks on the first home remedy web site I went to.
-- James' new thing is saying, "I love that." Mmm, I love this (food) and I love this (toy) and my favorite, "I love you."

I so enjoy your little updates in you and your family's life. Sounds like you've had a lovely Easter week too! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun to read up on what's going on and see pictures!
ReplyDeleteDid you know you can rub the Vicks on the soles of their feet and put socks over that? (It sure keeps it cleaner than smearing it on their chests) :P
