For FHE we embraced the cold by visiting our local Fire Station. They are having an open house every Monday night during the month of November... Anyway, the boys absolutely LOVED it! James is currently in love with Fire Trucks. That is his favorite toy and favorite thing to see when we are out and about. We make a point to drive, walk, and ride past fire stations every chance we get, but we've never been inside.
Tonight however, we were able to tour the inside, learn about firemen, and (drum roll) see the fire trucks and ambulances. We were able to sit inside a fire truck, look inside an ambulance, climb the ladder, and the boys even got cool hats. They absolutely loved it and we'll probably go back next week!
What a great idea! Our boys love Firetrucks too! In fact a couple of weeks ago (to make a long story short) my neighbors oven caught on fire, she called the Fire Department... and so after the firemen assessed the damage they let all the kids in our neighborhood climb up into the truck and sit in the back seat! The boys thought it was awesome to have a huge firetruck outside our front door!
