10 minutes late is synonymous with "Robin Time." I am late everywhere and most of the time. But, amazingly, we were at church on time today... probably because Mike fed, bathed, and dressed the boys this morning AND he took James to choir practice 30 minutes before I needed to be there. I'm a little embarrassed to admit all of that but I guess it just shows what an amazing and wonderful Man I am married to.
So, with that introduction, I have to say that we were rewarded for being there early (yes, 10:57 am is early in my book). While waiting for Sacrament to start we were pulling out some books and the very first page Daniel saw had a picture of a cat on it. Immediately he pointed to it and said, "CAT."
Wow! Totally took us both by surprise and I was excited that we were both there to enjoy his first word. He actually says it better than James. He says "CAT" where James says "didty dat." Both adorable and so fun to hear my little baby starting to talk. Since then he has been very pleased with his verbal abilities and has continued to say cat, along with trying to say "dog" and "tractor."
Speaking of James, his first word was pretty adorable as well... I was pregnant with Daniel and pushing him around Babies R Us getting a few things. There was a big box with a picture of a baby on it and he pointed and said, "Bubby." He too was very proud of himself--who wouldn't be when his Mom is jumping up and down in the aisle telling him how amazing he is? So, for the duration of that shopping trip and car ride home he continued to say "bubby" and I continued to think it was the coolest thing in the world.
...SO my Readers, there you have it! My boys are brilliant! Absolutely jenious! Both 13-14 months and saying their very first word! Okay, not really, but I had to write it for future reference... still no pics but exploring my publishing options and getting closer. And, when I do post pics again, I will post a pic of Misty Ama's ditty dat who inspired my child to speak and is one of his most favorite things in the whole world.
Fantastic and adorable! You and your boys... even your hubby who gets James to church early.
