There are moments when I adore the kid and  others when he tries me. Here are two pictures of the trying times...
James has this piercing cry that just drives me crazy and he knows that it does. I wouldn't mind it so much except he uses it to get to Daniel. Every time Daniel hears it he starts crying too--sometimes out of sympathy and sometimes our of fear I'm sure. Not only that, but if Daniel's sleeping, that stinking cry wakes him up. Makes me so mad. The other time James cries like that is when he's really tired or just waking up from a nap. So, what do I do about it? Well, sometimes I ignore it--or try to anyway. Sometimes I chuck him in his room, and other times I take Daniel to a different room so we don't have to hear it as much. Well, in this picture none of those options seemed appealing, so instead I just chucked him outside for a minute. What my neighbors must think! His little face is so sad, but look at Daniel just checking on him. Just shows how much he loves James.
Don't you all worry, the door's unlocked and he was really only out there long enough for me to take a picture of how adorable it all was. Also, I must admit that this won't be the last time he's sent outside for a time out.

Thanks to Tammy and Chris, the classic "Nose in the Corner" is our favorite mode of discipline. We really aren't very strict about it and sometimes it's just funny. This was one of those times. Since having kitty in our care, James has been sent to the corner a number of times--all for pulling her tail. Poor cat.
Maybe he'd get the message if I enforced it better instead of smiling and taking a picture of the kid?

I have this same picture of James at this age and in this outfit. So fun how similar and very different brothers can be.

I am Loving Summer!!! The sun, the green grass, the water... and all the fresh (and cheap) produce. My favorite breakfast in the world is crepes. Now, I've had authentic French crepes and am not in love. It's not until one has an authentic Lamm crepe with fresh fruit, whipped cream, ice cream, and (I've added) yogurt that they will know the potential of the crepe. Not the best picture, but still makes my mouth water.
