James has this really sweet friend who he likes to play with-- and they play amazingly together! One day we had them over and they played for an 1 1/2 hours without a single fight or tear (that is, once I put James' favorite toy away so he didn't have to share it). They both LOVE cars and they love to play together. We also like Charlie because he is a child prodigy and hopefully a few of his smarts will rub off onto our mediocre child :) Oh ya, and he's super sweet. I love this cute pic of him hugging James.
So, James is going through a new phase. About a month ago, when we were in St. George he became afraid of the dark. There were loud toads in the golf pond near our condo, and their croaking totally scared him. I'm sure he pictures them to be humongous and hideous lake creatures. For a while after that he would look out the window at the dark and say, "rib-bit, rib-bit." We've tried to appease the fears, but I think this picture is classic. While he's standing there telling Charlie about the frogs his face in the reflection just shows how terrified he is of the creatures. Poor kid.
Oh how funny!!! I think our kids were about his age when they started needing night lights in their rooms :)
