At the time, a two hour detour to and through Zion's seemed like a good idea. Looking back it was a good idea and a fun stop. However, because of that detour we found ourselves in middle of a horrific snow storm between Cedar City and Beaver. At one point we passed a 13 car pile-up in our direction (thankfully it happened right at an exit, so all the traffic was able to drive around and past it) and a 2-3 mile line of cars waiting for a wreck to clear up in the other direction. It was a mess and extra scary with our two little kiddos with us.
Here are some pics of the first two hours of the trip. By hour 9 we all looked a little bit different... screaming kids (can't blame them), Daddy tense with shoulders up to his ears, and Mommy standing on her head trying to entertain everyone.
And that, my Friends, is what memories are made of.
We have named "shot gun" the "whiner recliner". It is much easier being the driver than the one who helps the whiners!
