Was the silence worth it?

Oh ya! Definitely worth it.

Every Mom knows that when the house is quiet she should be worried. This is true, but sometimes no matter the mess-- silence is worth it when I'm nursing Daniel.

This really isn't that huge, though if it was spaghetti sauce or something darker than applesauce the picture would be a little more impressive.

Regardless, I was pretty impressed when Daniel was finished eating and I finally came in the kitchen to check on my boy. Only to find him, his hair, his chair, the counter, cupboards, table and the floor covered in and splattered with applesauce. Needless to say, my little Creator got a bath in the sink and "helped" me clean up the wreckage.

  1. Yeah, next time let him have spaghetti or baked beans or something COLOURFUL!! Heehee.
I know what you mean - if my boys are laughing and playing, I'm so happy they're not fighting, until I go into the room and see what a mess they've made!

  2. My darling two way back when they were much younger had a 'quiet' moment. I was trying to get ready to feed the missionaries, grateful the kids were staying out of the way... went to check on them, and found most of a styrofoam packing insert torn into individual beads, which become quite static charged by the way. Should have gotten the camera and taken a picture, but no, hollered at them, brought them the vacuum, plugged it in and told them to, "Clean this up!". Went back to the kitchen to work... realized again it was still too quiet, shouldn't I be hearing the vacuum?
Found Kyla stuffing each individual bead into the vacuum hose because I plugged the vacuum into the outlet that needed the wall switch turned on! Awww, I felt awful! She had that hose PACKED... It's funny NOW, but not so funny when you're living it.
