Gratitude

President Monson's article in this month's The Friend magazine is on Gratitude. The little activity after the article suggest to the kids to go around your house and write down three (or more) things they are grateful for with each of the 5 senses. Sounded kind of fun so I'm going to do that...

Sight:
Daniel's irresistably adorable smile and his little jowels
A full (but not too full) fridge
  A clean house
Our new family pictures which I picked up at Costco yesterday and have now filled our walls with
The Temple--I love driving past it any chance I get. And every time we do I sing "I Love to See the Temple" and James tries to say temple
  Outdoors
My bike. Ahh, just the sight makes me happy
Mike walking through the door after work-- I get giddy most days
James' cute little run-- always at full speed

Touch:
  Exercise, pilates, yoga, and sleep
Daniel's soft, squashy baby cheeks. Mmm, I just have to kiss them-- all the time
  Mike's strong hands holding mine
Nice whether/ temperature so we can go outside
My teeth after I've been to the dentist
Riding my bike, swimming, running (but only when I'm in shape and can actually last longer than a few blocks), being in shape

Smell:
My Daniel. I love how he smells. A neighbor worded it this way: "He smells so New." Even when I haven't bathed the little guy for a week, he still smells good. Mmm, after a bath, with baby lotion on. Now that's just heaven.
New carpet, paint, clothes, and books
Clean mountain air--anything but what we have right now during this inversion
My hair after I go to a salon. I love all the good smelling products thy put in my hair.
Those stinky little purple flowers that come out in April because it means Spring's here
Dinner cooking-- not something we smell every day

Sound:
  James' laugh
Music. Especially Love is Spoken Here and anything Sarah Brightman
Mike's voice, especially when he speaks Bislama (Vanuatu). There's just something sweet about it. I also love listening to it late at night when we're just chatting in bed.  Mmm and road trips. I love it when he's talkative.
Birds chirping in the morning--it means it's a nice day outside
James' adorable little voice. I'm loving listening to the way he says different words as he is trying to learn to talk.

Taste:
I love our meals after I go to Costco. I just went yesterday and now we have so much yummy food. I'm so grateful that we have money to be able to buy food and not live out of our food storage. We tried that out for the month of November and it wasn't so fun.
Someone else's cooking. Or CPK and Cheesecake factory. Mmm and Thai food. And cookies. Mike and I single handedly ate 2 batches of no bakes in less than a week.
  Pretty much everything

  2. So, I am guessing that you might spend over $300.00 this month? That is why I try not to go to Costco too much. I always end up spending WAY TOO much there!!!!But, I always end up going there still:)
