Um. Heaven.
We first took James with us to the resort and played in the pools for a while. He loved it! It was much warmer than the pool near our house back in the states and it was very James friendly. He just jumped right in, splashed around, and had a ball. Ama met up with us and she bought him his very first pair of floaty wings. He wasn't quite sure about those but I think they will be wonderful this summer as he is increasingly more and more independent.
My Mom then took James back home with her (with a slight detour to Jack in the Box and a church meeting) and they played, relaxed, rested, and recooperated while Mike and I had a whole entire evening, night, and morning to ourselves. It was so relaxing and wonderful to have each other to ourselves--no distractions. The beach, sunset, pool, and yummy buffets were wonderful and it was a much enjoyed and appreciated getaway from parenthood.
We of course, were super excited to see James the next day and thankfully, he was better for Ama than he had been for us. At least that's what she said. They did both get some rest without us dragging them around all over the island, so it worked out well.
Oh yeah, had to include a pic of the parrot (Macaw) because James loved it (at a distance) and even though it didn't talk to any of us, it said "Aloha" to James. Cute.
