Hermit and Kermit

Being a stay-at-home Mom includes unexpected events--especially when it comes to people who ring the doorbell. Neighborhood kids are my favorite. I've had various scavenger hunts including the "bigger and better" one. This morning I had a few boys show up with a big 5 gallon bucket and ring my doorbell. In fear of having to keep the bucket and give them something bigger, I hesitated answering the door, but luckily I did and this is what these little entrepreneurs were selling:

Frogs! $.50 a piece OR 2 for $.75

So, James and I bought two of the very smallest ones, found a container, went out back to get some dirt, added water and here you have it--the newest additions to our family... sitting on my nice, clean island in the kitchen!

  1. Dang, I didn't even know we had frogs around here. Now I have two of them as pets. Maybe Cosmo (our cat) will enjoy them. :)

  2. Not only did Robin get new pets today, she also blogged about them. And I haven't even been home from work to see the little guys yet. How fun!

  4. Awesome! That's cute that your neighbor kids came by selling them. Good for them for money for something they didn't even have to buy! Smart kids!
